New Years
On Monday afternoon, a close friend and I drove seven hours south of here.
We arrived at the rave's venue around 9:00pm and took a few shots of Vodka before entering.
The beginning of the party was pretty slow. Just laying back and watching the DJs and the lights, while smoking a few cigarettes.
Too many Red Bulls and too much Vodka churning in my stomach caused me to puke a little in the bathroom. An hour later, I was fine again, and started dancing to some wonderful tech-house.
I sat back to have another cigarette and give my legs a rest, when a cute boy in a black vest walked by. We made eye contact, since I try to make eye contact with everyone.
He looked nervous, so I felt bad. Later, I saw him walking towards me, but turned away when he noticed my friend (a girl) sitting down next to me.
"Damien! You have to be dancing for the countdown!"
"I know. We have like five more minutes yet."
-She rolled her eyes and walked away-
I finished the cigarette and walked up the stairs to the main dance floor.
5... 4... 3... 2... 1... HAPPY NEW YEAR!
After a lot of hugs and kisses from random people, I felt a tug on my shirt. I turned around to find a very beautiful girl with short blonde hair, wearing a green and blue striped shirt, as well as a pair of khaki phat pants. She looked up at me with bright blue eyes and a large smile on her face.
I smiled back at her, and without saying a word, she grabbed me by the back of the head and pulled me to her face. Her lips were smooth and gentle, and tasted like strawberry.
"Happy New Year," she said, while showing that great smile again. Then she was off. She skipped away into the crowd of moving dancers.
I was in love. I was so in love, but I knew I wouldn't be able to talk to her again. I can't deal with girls. With guys, I have no problem. Girls are tricky and I will never understand them. Ever.
The music turned evil after the count down, so I danced for another hour straight. Jungle music is unbelievable. I can't even describe what it is like to feel Jungle music in a large sound system. It's like your chest is going to implode.
Sweaty and feeling gross from too much dancing, I leaned against a pillar. That is when the boy in the vest walked by. I smiled at him as he walked over to where I was standing.
He whispered something in my ear but I could not understand. The music was far too loud to say anything under a yell.
Again he said, in a louder tone, "Have you had your New Years kiss yet?"
I don't think I could have been grinning any more. Up close, this boy was so gorgeous. He had dark skin, dark hair, and bright white teeth.
I lied and told him no, that I was waiting for him. God, how corny. He smiled though, and we kissed.
We danced and kissed some more, until he had to leave with his friends at 4:00am.
I went back out to the dance floor, and ran into the beautiful girl that kissed me after the countdown. The two of us hung out for the remainder of the party. Dancing and making out. I was so tense with her though. She was so cute, and far too gorgeous for me to handle. I always fall for the raver girls.
The party was slowly dying around 7:00am so my friend and I decided to head out.
I kissed the girl goodbye, but before I exited, she gave me her number. The vest-boy gave me his number before he left too. I know I'm not going to call either of them. I just don't do that. Besides, I live seven hours away.
I had a good night though.
